DIVINE MERCY FEAST
CELEBRATION AT DIVINE MERCY RETREAT CENTRE, CAPUCHIN FATHERS, BEJAI
MANGALURU
The Divine Mercy feast was celebrated at Divine Mercy Retreat Centre,
Bejai, Mangaluru on 11th April 2021 at 10.30 am. Bishop Emeritus Most
Rev Aloysius Paul Dsouza Diocese of Mangalore, was the principal
celebrant of the day.
Earlier at 9.30 am Fr Richard Quadras animator of the retreat centre
conducted Holy hour (Adoration), praying for all the sick and suffering.
During the Eucharistic celebration Bishop Aloysius preached a beautiful
homily on Mercy of God. He said “God’s mercy is explained in three
parables of New testament. The parable of Prodigal son, Lost sheep and
the lost coin. God’s Mercy abundantly flows to us, through His only son
Jesus Christ who died on the Cross, for the sake of humanity.”
The Capuchins namely, Fr Richard Quadras, Animator of Divine Mercy
Centre Bejai, Fr Chetan Lobo, PRO of Udupi Diocese, Fr Peter Cyprian the
Provincial Counsellor, Fr Jeevan Dmello the Novice Master, Fr Denis
Veigas, Fr Prakash Lobo, Fr Roshan Herald Dsouza, Fr Lancy Rebello, Fr
Prem Dsouza, Fr Prakash Colaco, Fr Stephen Dsouza, Fr Bertrand and Fr
Fredrick Rodrigues graced this occasion by their gracious presence.
During the Thanksgiving speech, Fr Paul Melwyn Dsouza, the guardian of
St Anne’s Friary thanked the Bishop for officiating the mass. Bishop was
also felicitated as he celebrates his episcopal ordination of silver
jubilee on 15th May. Fr Melwyn thanked Fr Richard Quadras the animator
of Divine Mercy for beautifully organizing nine days novena and for all
the arrangements of the feast. He also thanked the choir group, the core
committee members of Divine Mercy, all the benefactors, well-wishers and
the friars of St Anne’s for their support and encouragement. After the
Eucharistic celebration, a Festal meal was offered for all the devotees
of Divine Mercy.
