GOLDEN JUBILEE OF OFS SHIRVA FRATERNITY
The Secular Franciscan Order of Our Lady of Good Health, Shirva celebrated the golden jubilee of their establishment on Sunday, 18th April 2021. Rev Fr John Alwyn Dias, the Provincial Minister of HTP Karnataka celebrated the solemn Thanksgiving Mass and Fr John Fernandes, OFS Provincial Spiritual Assistant gave the homily. Fr Prakash Lobo, Capuchin and Fr Rohan Dias, the Asst PP concelebrated.

After the Mass, the invited guests and members of the Secular Franciscan Order gathered in the mini hall for the felicitation function. The guests were welcomed through the dance. In memory of the golden jubilee the guests on the dais poured water to a plant. The President of Shirva OFS welcomed the members. The secretary presented a short report. The guest of honour Rev Fr Denis D'Sa, the Parish Priest and Rev Fr Alwyn Dias, the Provincial in their speeches congratulated OFS Shirva fraternity and asked them to look back, evaluate the present and go ahead to the future with hope. They called the members to spread the spirit of St Francis of Assisi and get more members to the Order.

Four founding members were honoured and the golden souvenir was released. On the occasion of golden jubilee the OFS members had organised essay competition and those who secured first and second position in four different categories were given prizes. The formator Irene Lasrado proposed vote of thanks. At the end a sumptuous meal was served to the invited guests.
