IX Ordinary Provincial
Chapter-2022: Day One On 25th April 25, 2022, Monday at 3.00 pm all the Capitulars
gathered at the Façade of Shanthi Sadhana Bengaluru. The newly compiled
hymn book “Sing with Nature” was released by Br. John Baptist
Palliparambil, the General Councilor, Br. Lorenzo Motti, Provincial
Minister of the Emilia Romagna Province, Br. John Alwyn Dias Provincial
Minister of the Holy Trinity Province Karnataka, Br. Paul Melwyn D’Souza
the Vicar Provincial and Br. Salvadore Fernandes.
Thereby the all the capitulars joined for the procession with lighted
Pascal candle lead by Br. John Baptist Palliparambil, the General
Councilor towards the chapel of Shanthi Sadhana. The liturgy committee
conducted the prayer service that lead all the brothers to invoke the
inspiration of the Holy Spirit and the Lord’s presence for the
celebration of the Ninth Provincial Chapter.
All the capitulars gathered at the Chapter hall immediately after the
prayer service for the inaugural talk. The Speaker Rev. Fr. Joe Mannath,
SDB was introduced and honored by the Provincial Minister Br. John Alwyn
Dias and Rev. Fr. Joe Mannath, gave the inaugural talk on ‘leadership
quality of superiors’ and on ‘what the chapters can do, and cannot do’.
At 6.00 pm all the capitulars were gathered in the chapel for the
Eucharistic celebration presided by Fr. Joe Mannath and concelebrated by
Br. Cyril Roshan Menezes and Br. Alexander Daniel. Fr. Joe Mannath gave
an inspiring homily during the Holy Eucharist.
After the mass all the capitulars gathered at the chapter hall for the
inaugural session. The Chapter Secretary Rev. Br. Maxim D’Silva gave a
general introduction for the Provincial Chapter. Br. John Alwyn Dias the
Provincial Minster welcomed all the capitulars, special invitees, and
student representatives fraternally and the following guests were
felicitated: Br. John Baptist Palliparambil, General Councilor, Br.
Lorenzo Motti, Provinicial Minister, Emilia Romagna Province, Br.
Valentino, Br. John Baluku, Custos of Charles Lwanga Custody Uganda, Br.
Oscar Ogwal the Treasurer of Charles Lwanga Custody Uganda, Br. Maxim
D’Souza, Custos of the Custody of Japan, Br. Stany Roshan D’Souza, Br.
Isaac Baptist Rodrigues and Br. Arun Kumar the delegates from Mizoram,
Nagaland, and Sri Lanka respectively.
Then, the Roll Call done by the Second Chapter Secretary Br. Elvin
Lopes. Thereafter, all the official letters for the convocation of the
Ninth Provincial Chapter were read out. Thus the Chapter was officially
convoked. Br. John Baptist Palliparambil, the General Councilor sought
clarifications and proposal and acceptance of all the committees,
agenda, time table and other communications were passed-out. With the
Synodal Prayer session was concluded.
