EVANGELICAL UNION CAMP
IN ST CLARE SCHOOL, AKULUTO – NAGALAND St Clare School had the opportunity to witness the enthusiastic
youngsters love for Christ from 28th to 31st March 2024 through the
Evangelical Union Camp of Nagaland University, which was held in School
Campus.
Evangelical Union is an inter-denomination student’s ministry which was
initially started in Madras, India in the year 1951 by a small group of
students and has gradually spread across the world today under the apex
body called UESI which was launch in the year 1954. This ministry aims
to evangelize the students through the teachings from the Bible.
Similarly, Evangelical Union, Nagaland University, Lumami was also
established by a small group of PG students along with some professors
and started the ministry in the year 1997. Through His grace,
Evangelical Union has been actively carrying out various activities
under the guidance of our Advisors and UESI staff workers since its
inception. It’s a union which brings together youth of all the
denominations under the head of Evangelical Union inorder to energize
them with the love for Christ.
Around hundred and ten Youth arrived to St Clare School Campus on 28th
March at 8 am and accommodated themselves in the all Class rooms. They
also set the St Clare Auditorium for the input sessions under the theme,
“Redemption Through Christ” (Romans 10: 9 – 11) The purpose of this camp
was to help the Students to find their purpose in Christ, develop deeper
understanding and stronger relations with God through spiritual
teachings and many more. Some of the resource persons for the camp were
Mr Viketou Chupou, Mr Toshi Aier, Pastor Imliwapang, Mrs Liho Yeptho,
Mrs Kilangbenla Imsong and Mrs Vithonguno Chupou.
The Camp Director was Ms Kongotsho U Pulo and there were also several
other committees namely Recording, Time Keeper, Media, Music Band,
Registration animators, Accommodation, Hospitality, Cooking, First Aid
and so on. The sessions included group Discussions, Bible learning,
Doctrinal Sessions, Ministry Sessions, Topical Sessions, Devotion,
personal reflections, Group Meeting and counselling. On the last day, Fr
Stephen Dsouza the Headmaster of St Clare School was honored for
granting opportunity to have Evangelical Camp in the school Campus. In
his address Fr Stephen Dsouza encouraging the youngsters said, “ When
someone prays in st Clare school campus, its not that he/she only gets
blessings but the place, the surroundings, school, students, teachers
and the management. Therefore, the spiritual gathering is always
beneficial to thousands of people.” The Camp concluded on April 1st and
all students left the campus at 6 am to Nagaland University.
