Election of the
Provincial Minister and the Council – Holy Trinity Capuchin Province,
Karnataka
Bengaluru, Apr 23: On Wednesday, April 23, 2025, Fr Robin Victor Dsouza,
OFM, Cap, was elected as the Provincial Minister, by the X Ordinary
Provincial Chapter held at Shanti Sadhana, FISI, Bengaluru.
He will animate the Holy Trinity Capuchin Province, Karnataka for a term
of three years. Fr Robin Victor Dsouza, hails from Immaculate Heart of
Mary Parish, Nakre, in the diocese of Udupi.
Fr Paul Melwyn Dsouza (re-elected as Vicar Provincial and first
Councillor); Fr Naveen Santhosh Dsouza, the second councillor; Fr
Charles Furtado, the third councillor and Fr Anthony Raj, the fourth
councillor, have been elected as Provincial Councillors to accompany the
Provincial Minister.
The Holy Trinity Province of Karnataka has a membership of over 242
perpetually professed Capuchin priests and brothers, working in
Karnataka, Bhopal, Nagaland-Manipur, Mizoram-Tripura, Sri Lanka, Uganda,
Japan, Arabia, Italy, Turkey, New York, Guam, Germany and Israel.
Franciscan Capuchins who follow and imitate the spirit of St Francis of
Assisi are known for their missionary zeal, confession ministry,
preaching, apostolate of education and social work.
