‘He was wounded for our transgression,
And by His wounds we are healed’ The greatest ever sacrifice of the Son of God, to bestow on the human
kind the virtues of love, forgiveness and service and his subsequent victory
over the sting of death and darkness was prayerfully commemorated at
Saccidananda, Bangalore.
The liturgy of the Easter Triduum began with the celebration of the memorial
of the Lords Supper which was officiated by Fr Charles Furtado, the Mission
Secretary with his thought provoking homily on the theme of love and
service.
Fr Robin D’Souza, the Guardian presided over the service of Good Friday,
after a prayerful ‘Way of the Cross’ along the corridors of Saccidananda,
and taught the faithful about the magnitude of God’s love which was
demonstrated in and through the suffering and death of the Christ.
The Solemnity of the Resurrection of our Lord was celebrated by Fr Joseph
Dolphy, the Provincial Minister by meaningfully officiating the various
rites of the Easter Vigil and by instructing the faithful about the
significance of this singular and remarkable event of the resurrection of
Jesus Christ and how important it is in our life as Christians or the
‘People of Resurrection Faith’.
The Easter proclamation was sonorously intoned by Fr Deepak Fernandes, the
Provincial Secretary, under whose skillful observation the chapel and the
‘Altar of Repose’ were adorned beautifully as well.
Br Nelson, the Scholastic meticulously oversaw all the liturgical
arrangements, including the choir and ensured a smooth and prayerful Easter
Triduum.
A number of faithful filled our little chapel on all the three days and
enjoyed the spiritual bliss of the Lords Passion, death and His glorious
Resurrection.
