Saccidananda
03.04.2018 “The pastoral visitation prescribed by the Rule (ER IV 2; LR X 1) and
universal law contributes much to the inspiration and renewal of our life
and to the unity of the brothers (Const 164.1)”.
As is the spirit of the Order, the Pastoral Visitation of the community
of Saccidananda began today with the thanksgiving Eucharist celebrated by Fr
Provincial Minister along with the members of the community.
Later during the day, the Provincial Minister exhorted the brothers on the
timely theme of ‘Power and Authority for the sake of selfless Service to God
and to humanity’, accentuating the fact that the sacramental power we posses
as priests and religious has a definite divine purpose. It is not to break
but to build, not to hurt but to heal, it is not to rule over but to serve,
like Jesus, the Son of God himself did during His public ministry and our
father St Francis of Assisi demonstrated throughout his life, though being
modest and unassuming.
All the brothers of the community met the Provincial Minister personally for
fraternal sharing and community gathered for a dialogue in the auditorium
during which various issues pertaining our life in the community were
discussed.
The Pastoral Visitation concluded on 04.04.2018 with the evening prayer.
