Blessing of the New Altar -
Saccidanda August 17: It is rightly said that the Altars occupy a prominent place
in the sanctuaries of all the Churches of the Catholic Church and the area
around the Altar is seen as endowed with greater holiness and is usually
physically distinguished from the rest of the Church. Therefore it was a
long awaited wish of the Friars of the Saccidandna and more so the wish of
the Faithful who come for the Sunday Mass to have a beautiful Altar for the
Chapel. Thus with the very generous contribution from our well wishers, the
new Altar was designed with the picture of Holy Trinity as our Province is
dedicated to the Most Holy Trinity. The new Altar was blessed by Rev. Fr.
Andrew Anil Sequeira and the beautiful inspiring homily was preached by
Deacon Brother Sharath Kumar (TOR) with the melodies singing from Brs. Alden
& Bolar. After the Holy Eucharist, the superior Fr. Joachim D’souza thanked
the faithful for their generous contribution. To mark the occasion delicious
breakfast was served to the faithful.
