Conference of Capuchin Major
Superiors in India At FISI, Bangalore
“Our life as brothers is a fruit and a sign of the transforming power of the
Gospel,” quotes our Constitution 13:4. The unity and the collaboration bind
us and helps us walk in the footprints of our founder and brother Francis of
Assisi. To rejuvenate the life and the ministry of the Capuchins all over
India the Conference of Capuchin Major Superiors in India (CCMSI) gathered
for the meeting at FISI in Bangalore from 27th to 29th August, 2019. Br.
John Baptist, the General Councillor, Br. Paul Koenig, Custos of General
Custody of Arabia and 14 Major Superiors from all the Capuchin Provinces of
India were present and had a fruitful deliberation on different points to
foster the life in collaboration. It had also the briefing of the updates by
Br. Arun Lobo on JPIC, and a session on Ratio Formationis by Br. Charles
Alphonse secretary of Formation from General Curia and information and
guidelines by the General Postulators Br. Carlo Calloni and assisted by Br.
Antoine El Haddad. Br. Remish Ekka presided over the meeting, and Br.
Waldheim Rodrigues jotted down the minutes as being the secretary of CCMSI.
The meeting found fruitful end with lots of sharing of joys and struggles
and future plans for the growth of provinces in India and different parts of
the world.
