GUARDIANS ANNUAL RETREAT, 19
– 24TH AUGUST, 2019
An Author by name Mr. Javeed Wilson expresses a thought about Spiritual
Retreat: “No past is dark enough to withstand a transforming encounter with
God.” Accordingly the retreat of all Guardian along with the Provincial
Delegates, Directors, Parish Priests and Principles was indeed a spiritual
inner expedition, began on 19th August, 2019 at 3:00 pm with the Holy
Eucharistic celebration presided over by the Retreat Preacher/Animator, the
person known as Barefoot Preacher, a well know reformist, humanitarian,
socialist, and who has authored 79 books in English and Tamil language he is
Rev. Fr. Jerry Rosario SJ. He briefed the brothers the true sense and
meaning of retreat and also involved everyone vibrantly to journey with the
Lord during each days of retreat meaningfully. With the different themes for
the days like, conversion, creativity, courage, cross and covenant. The
adoration brought glimpses of grace. As a trade mark of the retreat brothers
were motivated by the animator in donating blood voluntarily on Friday 23rd
August, 2019. Though 26 brothers voluntarily came forward, 18 of them
successfully donated their blood to St. Joseph’s Hospital Blood Bank. It was
a unique experience for the brothers of sharing their own blood to the
benefit of poor people. Along with atmospheric peace and serenity in and
around the Portiuncula, Retreat & Renewal Center, Jettihundi, Mysore the
days of retreat were spiritually and truly memorable ones.
