Children Fest Celebrated at St. Francis of Assisi School Chikodi
Our joy is in our kids. Our pride is in their future. With this slogan we ventured into the children's fest 2013 on Dec 14. The entire ground was decorated with balloons, buntings and flowers, food fest and Fancy fate stalls were shining with variety of food from various cultures. The inaugural ceremony began at 10 am with Fr.Joachim D'souza, Treasurer, Holy Trinity Province - Karnataka, releasing the balloons and Fr.Richie, the principal declared the Children Fest open. Speaking the occasion shri. Mekam Maradi BEO of Chikodi appreciated the efforts made by the Capuchin Fathers to uplift the children in an integral manner. He asked the children to remain always happy and contended. Sri D.Y.Basapure, district Judge of Chikodi in his addressed stressed the need for formation, information, transformation in Childs life. Sri Narendra Nerlekar, President of TMC had shown the willingness to help the school in every possible manner. Fr Joachim in his presidential address implored God's abundant blessings upon the staff and the students. Bursting of paper crackers infused new spirit in the kids. Inter school western dance competition was held for primary and high school level students. KLE Society's CBSE School Nippani secured the first place, RD International School and R.M Girls high school secured second and third place respectively. Individual dance competition for our students was held in the afternoon. Goan culture, western culture, Rajastani culture, Karnataka culture, Maharashtrian culture and Gujarati culture were some of the important programs presented by our children. High quality of cultural richness was exhibited by the students in front of their parents. In the evening long awaited cake draw raised the curiosity of the people. Kumari Tejaswini, student of 9th Std won the 5Kg black forest cake. Dr. Sanjay kasture won the 3 Kg strawberry Gamalia cake and Swayam Kotre, student of 6th Std won the 3 Kg Chikodi special cake. The consolation cakes were won by Ajinkya medicals and Mr.Ghatti. The day remained memorable to everyone.
