The Sacerdotal Silver Jubilee celebration of Fr. Dr. Albert Lewis OFM
Cap., the Director of Darshan Institute of Theology was held at Deena Seva
Ashram, Bengaluru on the 22nd of January 2023. The celebration began with
the solemn Eucharistic celebration. Fr. Dr. Denis Veigas OFM Cap., the
Rector of the Seminary in his introduction to the Eucharist, described the
priestly life of Fr. Albert Lewis as Pastor, Teacher, Professor and a true
Franciscan Capuchin Friar. He placed on record the yeomen services of Bro.
Albert Lewis to this fraternity in particular and to the Holy Trinity
Province at large.
Fr. Dr. Paul Melwyn D Souza OFM Cap., Vicar Provincial and Rector of
Kripalaya, Institute of Philosophy and Religion, Mysore, preached a
befitting homily. In his homily he highlighted some of the characteristics
of a priest and the challenges in the modern world. Fr. Lourduswamy OFM
Cap., the companion of Bro. Albert and Jubiliarian and 26 Priests
concelebrated the Holy Eucharist. The brothers and sisters, the loved ones
and friends of Fr Albert and religious of different congregations around
joyfully participated in the celebration.
In a short felicitation program, Bro. Miltan Fernandes OFM Cap., highlighted
the life and qualities of Bro. Albert. In gratitude the jubilarian
remembered and thanked all those who were responsible in moulding him as a
priest and appreciated the generosity manifested by the community. All
partook in the sumptuous and delicious meal prepared under the guidance of
Fr. Santhosh Naveen D Souza OFM Cap., the Vice Rector and Prefect of
Theology.
