Six Capuchin Brothers
Ordained as Deacons
"Whoever wishes to be great among you must be your servant." (Mark
10:43)
The Holy Trinity Capuchin Province, Karnataka, rejoiced with
profound gratitude and joy as six Capuchin brothers were ordained to the
Sacred Order of Deacons on 3 July 2026 at Deena Seva Ashram, Darshan
Institute of Theology, Kengeri, Bangalore.
The solemn Eucharistic Celebration was presided over by Most Rev. Dr.
Arokiaraj Satis Kumar, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Bangalore, who
conferred the diaconate upon the candidates. In his inspiring homily, the
Bishop reflected on the Word of God and reminded the newly ordained deacons
that their vocation is one of humble service. He urged them to be faithful
ministers at the altar and compassionate servants of the People of God,
witnessing to Christ through lives of charity, simplicity, and selfless
dedication.
The joyous celebration was graced by the presence of Rev. Fr. Robin Victor
D'Souza, Provincial Minister of the Holy Trinity Capuchin Province, Rev. Fr.
Paul Melwyn D'Souza, Vicar Provincial, the Provincial Councillors, numerous
Capuchin friars, diocesan priests, women and men religious, as well as the
families, relatives, and friends of the newly ordained deacons. Their
prayerful presence made the occasion a beautiful expression of the Church's
communion and support for these young ministers.
The ordination marks a significant milestone in the journey of these
brothers as they embrace Christ's call to serve with humility, proclaim the
Gospel with courage, and dedicate themselves wholeheartedly to the service
of the Church. The Holy Trinity Capuchin Province thanks God for this
abundant gift and prays that the newly ordained deacons may become joyful
heralds of the Gospel, faithful servants of the altar, and living witnesses
of Christ's love wherever they are sent.
