Two books of 'Sevak prakashan'
released. Sevak Publication, a venture of Capuchin Media Publication brought
to light two Konkani Books namely “Samasyank Parihar” by Dr Judi Pinto
and “Garjethekid Gazali” by Mrs Felicy Lobo, Derebail on 24th June 2017,
at 4.00pm. This book release event began with the evening refreshment at
3.30 pm. Fr. Darel Fernandes, the Editor of “Kutmacho Sevak” the konkani
monthly welcomed the gathering with a short prayer and his words of
welcome. The new book “Samasyank Parihar” was introduced by Irine
Rebello, a well-known writer and poet, after which it was released by Fr
Maxim Disilva, the manager of Assisi Press, Mangalore. Mr. Naveen
Kulshekar introduced the second book “Garjethekid Gazali” which was then
released by Rev Fr Jerom, the principle of St Aloysius High School,
Mangalore. Fr Maxim Disilva, in his message brought out the importance
of the books in the society. Poet Wilson Kateel, a popular Konkani poet,
writer and editor in his message stressed on the need of reading Konkani
and making use of social media platforms for the development of Konkani.
Fr Jerom Furtado SJ, the president of this evening program congratulated
both Dr Judy Pinto and Mrs Felcy Lobo for their contribution to the
Konkani literature and wished them success in the future endeavours.
Towards the end of the even a short humorous poetry recital was held.
Six popular poets namely Naveen Surathkal, Mundrel Crylil, Roshu Bajpe,
Herolpius, Charli Kulshekar, Ashok kumar Kasargod recited their humours
poems. Fr Jawahar thanked each and everyone for their presence and
making this event a success. Dr. Dimple Fernandes, the member of the
Sevak editorial board compèred the whole programme. The presence of good
many veteran poets, writers, priests, family members and friends of Dr
Judy Pinto and Mrs. Filcy Lobo made the evening event memorable.
