Mass of the Holy Spirit and Prima
Lectio Brevis at Darshan Institute of Theology, Bengaluru
Every day has a new beginning, a new blessing, and a new hope, that is
God’s gift to us. Brothers at Darshan Theologate are all set to begin
the new academic year 2018-2019. We began with the Mass of the Holy
Spirit at 9.00 a.m. presided over by Very Rev. Fr. Joseph Dolphy Pais,
the Provincial Minister of Holy Trinity Province. He preached an
inspiring homily on Good News, Flash news and Fake news. He called on
the brothers to be wise in using social communication. The directors of
the Day Scholars namely from Ashirvanam and Goodnews Bhavan enhanced our
joy.
Soon, after the mass refreshments were served and then we proceeded with
Prima Lectio Brevis. The programme began with a prayer and lighting of
the lamp by the dignitaries. The new handbook and calendar was released.
The freshers were cordially introduced and welcomed by the Dean of
Studies. Br. Jerry Fernandes O.F.M cap. gave the inaugural lecture on
“Revelation of Identity of Jesus: Markan Perspective”. Then, Rev. Fr.
Albert Lewis, the Dean of Studies briefed and gave us important
instructions as we began the academic year. Then, all the professors
delivered their prima lectio brevis on the various courses which they
will be taking during this scholastic year. The programme was concluded
with the final words from Rector followed by the Institute Anthem.
In the afternoon, we had a short felicitation programme for the
perpetually professed brothers of the Holy Trinity Province; Sandeep
D’Souza, Roshan Perera, Maxim D’Souza, Wilfred Naveen D’Silva and Br
Valerian Ferrao from Goa. Two TOR deacons too were felicitated. The
unveiling of the new Franciscan Missal and Lectionary the work of Rev.
Fr. Andrew Anil was appreciated by the Provincial Minister.
