WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY IN ST CLARE SCHOOL, AKULUTO
St Clare School celebrated World Environment day on Wednesday, 5th June
2024. On this day Students were requested to bring a sapling with
following instructions.
1. Make sure those plants which are brought by you turn out to be big
trees.
2. They must be in small bags.
3. Don't pluck away the plants which are on the road side or around your
house.
According to the instructions all the students gathered at 8.15 am in
the school campus. In the Primary School Fr James Furtado, Asst
Headmaster beautifully explained about the environment and need for the
taking care of it. In the High school, Fr Stephen Dsouza as well as Sir
Dingtanlung gave input sessions on environment day. Thereafter all the
High school students proceeded to the St Clare Auditorium for the video
presentation on environment day animated by Fr Stephen Dsouza. The
presentation included videos on beautiful nature and surroundings,
destructions done by human being and future trouble as well as Tips on
taking care of the environment. Immediately after the presentation Fr
Stephen Dsouza along with some students and Sir Vikram went to several
churches around Akuluto to give the plants on behalf of the school. The
message of the awareness was, ‘it’s not only the schools have to take
initiative to take care of the environment but it’s also the
responsibility of each individual elders to take interest to safeguard
the environment’.
