35th Convocation Day
The 35th Convocation Day of Kripalaya: Institute of Philosophy and Religion,
Mysore was held on March 19, 2024. Fourteen students who have successfully
completed Three years of training in Ecclesiastical Philosophy were awarded
with the Convocation Certification. Among these students Six belong to the
Holy Trinity Province, Karnataka and Eight belong to the Krist Jyoti
Province, North-West India. Rev. Dr John Alwyn Dias OFM Cap. – the Chief
Moderator of the Institute and Provincial Minister of Holy Trinity Province
Karnataka presided over the Convocation Ceremony and gave away the
Certificates. Rev. Dr Simon Neelanirappel OFM Cap. – the Vicar Provincial of
the Krist Jyoti Province was the Guest of Honour. Rev. Dr Paul Melwyn
D’Souza – the Director of the Institute and all the Professors and
Non-Teaching staff were on the dais during the awarding of the Certificates.
The Day began with the Comprehensive Viva Voce Examination in Two Panels.
Each student appeared before the designated Panel for examination and
personal assessment in Philosophy. The Residential Teachers, the Provincials
and Rev. Dr Roy CMI - the Delegated from Dharmaram Vidya Kshetram -
Bangalore, the Affiliating Authority of Kripalaya were the examiners. Br
Melrish Nathan Noronha, a Second Year student compared the program and the
rest of the students actively participated in the ceremony while bidding
farewell to the Out-going students. On this occasion, the Institute also
released the 35th Volume of Cintana: An Anthology of Scientific Papers
presented by each student as part of their Curriculum. The whole program
took place under the guidance of Rev. Fr Prashanth Noronha – the Dean of
Studies.
