Provincial Chapter of the New York – New England Province of Saint Mary

The Twenty-Second Ordinary Chapter of the New York – New England Province of Saint Mary was held on May 14th to19th, 2017 at Holy Family Retreat Center, West Hartford, Connecticut. With the total number of 104 friars being present for the chapter with guest and observers was an enriching moment for the friars to relive their fraternal life. The central theme of the provincial Chapter was “encountering our future through fraternity & leadership, mission & ministry, and finances” was well animated by Fr. Vincent Fortunato Capuchin, with a team of experts, animating and deliberating the process. Fr Francis Gasparik the out-going Provincial Minister of St Marys Province, in his address appreciated and thanked the hard work of the brothers of Holy Trinity Province, Karnataka, India. Fr. Clever D’Souza presented the report on custody of Japan. Fr. Dolphy Pais, Provincia Minister of Holy Trinity Province presented an excellent report on the various activities in the province especially our mission geared towards the social action. He appreciated the generosity of The Province of St. Mary, New York and remembered Rev. Fr. Michael Banks for giving us the opportunity to work in collaboration with St Mary’s Province of New York.

The Chapter concluded with the election, Eucharist and the Agape. The new provincial team with Michael Greco and the Councillors are enthused to serve the order.
