TEMPORARY PROFESSION THANKSGIVING MASS OF SR MAYA LILY AYE, UFS IN ST CLARE
CHURCH, AKULUTO St Clare Church, Akuluto had an opportunity to have the Temporary
profession, thanksgiving mass of Sr Maya Lilly Aye on Sunday, 12th May 2024.
Fr Yesudas OFM Cap who is serving in the Mission of Aurnachal Pradesh in the
Diocese of Itanagar, celebrated the solemn Eucharist, con - celebrated by Fr
Isaac Baptist Rodrigues Delegate of Infant Jesus Delegation, Fr Stephen
Dsouza Parish Priest of St Clare Church Akuluto and Fr James Furtado the
Asst Parish Priest. Fr Isaac Baptist preached a meaningful homily explaining
the significance of Ascension of the Lord and meaning of 3 religious vows
professed by Sr Maya. Nagaland University Students helped out the Liturgy by
singing the Hymns. Their melodious voices added colour to the great
celebration. Two of the Ursuline Franciscan sisters namely Sr Rosy Noronha
and Sr Rita Yimchunger partook in the celebration representing their
Province. Immediately after the mass a felicitation programme was organized
anchored by Ms Livika. Mr Aboto Yeptho, the Catechist welcomed all the
guests and people for felicitation programme. On this occasion Fr Stephen
and James as well as the Catholic community of Akuluto honored Sr Maya and
her mother Mrs Zatoli. Mr Vixshe Peter representing the Catholic Community
said, “Sr Maya we are proud of you. You have brought name and fame to our
Church. May God grnat you the grace to do wonders in his vineyard.” The
Guests of the day Fr Isaac, Ursuline Sisters and Fr Yesudas were also
honoured by the Parish Priest and the Catholic Community. More than 100
people witnessed the great event. A fellowship meal was served by the
Catholic Community and the family members of Sr Maya Lily Aye. Sr Maya
belonging to the Sumi Tribe, is the First vocation from St Clare Catholic
Church Akuluto as a result of hard mission work of Capuchins for almost 23
years in Akuluto through education and Pastoral ministry.
