NAGALAND CATHOLIC YOUTH MOVEMENT LUMAMI: ELECTION OF NEW EXECUTIVE MEMBERS
FOR THE YEAR 2024 – 25
NCYM Lumami elected new executive members for the year 2024 – 25 on the
Feast of Pentecost, Sunday 19th May 2024. Fr Stephen Dsouza, the Parish
Priest of St Clare Church, Akuluto officiated the solemn eucharist. During
the homily he beautifully explained the significance of the Pentecost Sunday
saying, ‘Pentecost Day is the Birthday of the Universal church as with the
preaching of Peter in Acts 2:1-11, more than 3000 Jews received Baptism and
became Christians’. Immediately after the Profession of Faith all the
executive members came before the altar holding candles in their hand and Fr
Stephen Dsouza made a Prayer asking the Lord to bless them, to perform their
duties in extraordinary way. Encouraging them to do better in their
responsibility he said, “any post is not just a privilege but it’s a service
for the other, inroder to help others to experience Christ. Incase executive
members fail in their duties they also fail in bringing others closer to
Christ.” The new executives are President, Ms Neizetuonuo Bernadette
Dzuvichu from St Francis De Sales Parish Kohima, Music Secretary, Mr Avupi
Khiz from Mary help of Christian Parish Jakhama, General Secretary, Ms K
Chunchun Kanei Mount Carmel Parish Dimapur, Finanace Secretary, Ms Colin
Hoga Maru from St Paul Parish Peren and Liturgical Secretary, Ms Kelevonu
Angela Thala from Mary Help of Christians Parish Jakhama.
On this occasion new President Ms Neitzetuonuo thanked the outgoing
executive members for their hard work for the past two years. The outgoing
executives are Mr Amos Lunthrun Yimkhiung, President, Ms Lonsheineni Shitiri
General Secretray, Mr George Kijikhum Music Secreratry, Ms Alem K Lydia
Liturgical Secretary and Mr Ashepouvie Paul Finance Secretary.
