Perpetual Profession of Six Capuchin Friars at Deena Seva Ashram, Bangalore.
Friday, 2 May 2025, marked a momentous and joy-filled occasion for the
Capuchin friars of the Holy Trinity Province, Karnataka, as six of our
brothers — Br. Simon D’Silva, Br. Charles L. Ringphami, Br. Balraj I., Br.
Rolson Veigas, Br. Fathiraj, and Br. Rexon D’Costa — made their perpetual
profession at Deena Seva Ashram, Kengeri, Bangalore.
This sacred celebration stood as a powerful witness to the enduring vitality
of the Capuchin Franciscan charism and the continued relevance of the
evangelical counsels of poverty, chastity, and obedience in our contemporary
world.
During the ceremony, Fr. Denis Veigas, Rector of the Darshan Institute of
Theology, formally presented the friars to Fr. Robin Victor D’Souza,
Provincial Minister of the Holy Trinity Province, who accepted their
perpetual vows and presided over the Eucharistic celebration. Fr. Paul
Melwyn D’Souza, Vicar Provincial Councillor, delivered a stirring homily
that encouraged the brothers to embrace a life of unwavering commitment,
emphasizing that the call to live the evangelical vows, though beyond human
understanding, is made possible through the grace of God.
The solemnity of the event was enriched by the presence of Provincial
Councillors — Fr. Santhosh Naveen D’Souza, Fr. Charles Furtado, and Fr.
Antony Raj (Jr) — as well as numerous Capuchin priests, religious,
benefactors, family members, and friends who gathered to witness this
profound act of dedication.
Following the Holy Mass, a brief felicitation ceremony was held, during
which the perpetually professed friars and their parents were honored and
congratulated.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to our brothers who have committed
themselves totally and irrevocably to a life modeled after Christ and St.
Francis of Assisi — a life of simplicity, humility, and service. May their
journey be blessed as they continue to live out their sacred vocation in
joyful fidelity to God and humanity.
