THREE NEWLY ORDAINED PRIESTS TO HOLY TRINITY CAPUCHIN PROVINCE KARNAKATA.
The Holy Trinity Capuchin Province of Karnataka rejoices in abundant grace
as the Lord blesses the Province with three new priests this year —
Fr Nithesh Nazareth OFM Cap., Fr Roshwin Lopes OFM Cap., and Fr Arogya
Lawrence Xavier OFM Cap.
Amidst the gentle sea breeze and vibrant Catholic heritage of coastal
Mangalore, where faith has flourished for generations along the Konkan
shores, Fr Nithesh Nazareth OFM Cap. was ordained to the Sacred Priesthood
on 24 April 2026 by Most Rev. Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, Bishop of Mangalore,
at the historic St Francis Xavier Church, Ferar, Mangalore. The land shaped
by the prayers of missionaries and the rhythm of the Arabian Sea now offers
another shepherd to the Church — a humble friar called to walk in the
footprints of the Poor Christ, embracing the Franciscan spirit of
fraternity, simplicity, and joyful service.
In the serene embrace of Honnavar, where the Western Ghats meet the vastness
of the ocean and the timeless traditions of Uttara Kannada continue to echo
through its villages, Fr Roshwin Lopes OFM Cap. was ordained on 29 April
2026 by Most Rev. Dr Derick Fernandes, Bishop of Belgaum, at St Sebastian
Church, Muguwa, Honnavar. From this soil rich in simplicity, devotion, and
cultural harmony rises a priest called to be a beacon of Christ’s
compassion. Like St Francis of Assisi, who saw every creature as brother and
sister, may his priestly life radiate peace, reconciliation, and tender care
for the poor and forgotten.
Surrounded by the prayerful spirit of rural Bengaluru and the enduring faith
of its Christian communities, Fr Arogya Lawrence Xavier OFM Cap. was
ordained to the priesthood on 09 May 2026 by Most Rev. Dr Arokia Raj Satis
Kumar, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Bangalore, at Sacred Heart
Church, Silvepura, Bangalore. In a place where tradition and modernity walk
together, the Church receives yet another servant for the vineyard of the
Lord — a Capuchin friar called to bear witness through prayer, humility,
fraternity, and fearless Gospel living in the spirit of St Francis.
May the Lord who began this good work in them bring it to fulfilment, and
may St Francis of Assisi and the great Capuchin saints accompany them as
they journey joyfully in the service of the Gospel and the Church.
