Temporary Profession of Seven Capuchin Friars at St Fidelis Friary, Monte
Mariano, Farangipet, Mangalore.
It was Joyous occasion for the Capuchin friars of the Holy Trinity Province,
Karnataka as well as Krist Jyothi Province, Delhi as 7 of our brothers (Two
from Holy Trinity Province and Five from Krist Jyothi Province) – Br Vivid
Christa Raj, Br Kaplalsiam, Br Cherian Johny, Br Frinto Johnson, Br Amal
Thomas, Br Ashutosh and Br Abhishek Toppo - professed their temporary
profession on Saturday, 16 May 202 at St Fidelis Friary, Monte Mariano,
Farangipet, Mangalore. Br Paul Melwyn Dsouza, the Vicar Provincial of Holy
Trinity Province Karnataka, and Br Cyriac George, the Provincial of Krit
Jyothi Province, Delhi received their vows. The Capuchin Franciscan Order,
is known for its commitment to poverty, simplicity, Celibacy and deep
spirituality. One of the most significant events within the order is the
celebration of the religious commitment made by the friars. This event marks
the ceremony of public profession of vows where the friars pledge to live
according to the evangelical counsels of poverty, chastity, and obedience.
Novice Master, Fr Henry DSouza, presented the friars professing their vows.
The ceremony was solemnized by the presence of Provincial councillors and
many Capuchin friars, Priests, Religious, parents, brothers and sisters,
benefactors and near and dear ones who witnessed the ceremony of Temporary
Profession. After the Holy Mass a short felicitation program was held where
the Temporarily Professed Friars were felicitated along with their parents.
