Krishik Seva Kendra ®, Vimukti, Banakal organized an awareness
programme on “The Problems and Impact of the Consumption of Alcohol
and Tabacco”. Fr. Vincent D’ Souza, the project director of Vimukti,
Banakal spoke about the ill-effects of the consumption of Alcohol
and Tabacco on the health of the individual person, family, growth
and education of the Children and economic conditions of the family.
He admonished the participants to bring about awareness to the
children and the neighbours. The programme began at 10-00 a.m. with
a prayer song. 62 Self Help Group members of Lokavalli village of
Mudigere Taluk were the participants. The programme was concluded at
1-00 p.m. with vote of thanks.
