at Gardady
Bishop Aloysius P. D'Souza officiates Canonical erection of
New Parish at Gardady in Belthangady Taluk. After years of being under
the Sacred Heart Parish – Madanthyar, the Bishop of the Diocese of
Mangalore Most Reverend Aloysius Paul D’souza, administered the rites
for the Canonical Erection of its own Parish on October 6th, 2013. And
offered to the Order of Capuchin Friars Minor and installed Fr. Mark
Saldanha Capuchin Priest as the first parish priest to this new Church
dedicated to St. Sabestian. Many Varado priest were present for the
ceremony along with capuchin priests from neighboring communities. A
short felicitation programme was arranged. The Bishop in his address
acknowledged our presence & service in his Diocese and encouraged us to
be the witnesses like St. Francis of Assisi. The Provincial Minister Br.
Joseph Dolphy Pais thanked the Bishop for giving us one parish in his
diocese and promised that we become the instruments of peace to build up
the families than just the building. In spite of heavy rains large crowd
witnessed this ceremony with great devotion.
As we congratulate Fr. Mark Saldanha, and wish him all the best for his
ministry. We also thank the guardian & the community members of
Dayalbagh for making this ceremony successful.
