Cyclone Hudhud of OFS seminar : Kripalaya, Bogady, Mysore. Theme : Repair My Church: St. Francis
of Assisi and Pope Francis; The Role of OFS in Renewing the Church
Cyclone Hudhud of OFS members from Bangalore and Mysore zones pounded
the premises of Kripalaya, Bogadi on 12th October 2014, and left
everyone in wonderstruck with massive spiritual aspiration to Repair and
Renew the entire Church. It was a turning point in the life all the
participants. The seminar was adorned with precious and beautiful jewels
of Karnataka Province viz. Fr. Alwyn Dias, Vicar Provincial, Fr. Santa
Lopez, Definitor and Rector of Kripalaya, Fr. Godwin, Definitor and
Spiritual Asst. Bangalore Zone, Fr. Manohar Dsouza, Secretary of OFS of
Entire Province, Fr. Rocky Dcunha, Vice Rector and Resource person of
the day and Fr. Richard Kadiwal, the new Spiritual Asst. for Mysore
Zone. There were OFS representing members from Banaglore and members
From Mysore Zone (there are five fraternities viz, Kripalaya, Bogadi,
Kuvenpunagar, Hinkal and Naganahalli) attended the seminar.
The seminar began with a prayer song and lighting of the lamp. The
president of Mysore zone Mr. Michael welcomed everyone. Fr. Alwyn Dais
addressed the gathering with his inaugural talk and encouraged the OFS
members. There upon Fr. Rocky Dcunha set our hearts on fire with his
inspiring audio-visual talk, one among the members said, “we learnt many
things today.” Immediately Fr. Rocky was honoured for all the
achievement he has done for the OFS and for his doctoral studies. There
was general session moderated by Fr. Manohar Dsouza. Each fraternity
presented a short report and their opinion of the present situation; all
had same idea of OFS is to be encouraged and guided. With some important
announcement and encouraging words the session ended. Immediately there
was mass Fr. Alwyn Dais celebrated and Fr. Godwin preached an inspiring
homily on St. Francis of Assis. With lunch the cyclone Hudhud of OFS
members left the Kripalaya premises with sweet memories.
