18 _ 24 TH October 2021– Annual Retreat
The annual retreat was held at DSA from 18th to 24th October 2021. Fr.
Bonaventure Rodrigues, the Spiritual director of St. Peter’s Pontifical
Seminary was the retreat preacher. The general theme of the retreat was
‘Inward Journey to become an authentic disciple of Christ in the foot
prints of St. Francis of Assisi’. Each day we reflected on the various
aspects of authentic discipleship, its various demands, challenges and
struggles through the lens of Jesus, Scripture, St. Francis of Assisi
and other saints. Every day in the morning and in the evening we
participated in the meaningful meditations guided by the preacher. We
approached the Sacrament of Reconciliation on Wednesday and a session
and meditation on inner healing on Friday. We were also joined by some
of the friars from our province, namely from St. Annes, St. Fidelis
Friary, Farangipet, Chaplains from St. Ignatius Hospital, Honavar and
from Fr. Mullers Hospital, Mangalore. Over all it was a well organized
retreat with sufficient time for reflection. On the concluding day Fr.
Salvador Fernandes, the Rector, offered the Holy Mass and also thanked
the preacher Fr. Bonaventure Rodrigues for preaching a meaningful
retreat, with special appreciation for his availability and good will
towards our province.
