St. Clare School Akuluto shines in CEDOK Sports Meets and Sepaktakraw
State Level tournament
The students of St. Clare School actively participated in two major
sporting events this October, showcasing their talent, determination,
and team spirit.
On 10th October 2025, St. Clare athletes took part in the CEDOK Athletic
Meet held at St. Joseph’s Higher Secondary School, Chümoukedima, where
schools from across the district competed with great enthusiasm.
Participants from St. Clare included Kupu Shohe, Lea H. Kathu, Anguvito
Shohe, Ilino V. Yesca, K. Opeka Chishi, Tovinoli T. Aye, Vpu Zhimo,
Tovinoli K. Chishi, Franklin Achumi, Dinah A. Achumi, Loino T. Aye,
Isabe V. Aye, Samuel Shohe, and Asuli V. Yesca. The students competed in
various track and field events such as the 100m and 200m races,
three-legged race, long jump, high jump, shot put, relay race, obstacle
race, and bamboo climbing. A proud moment for the school came when Vpu
Zhimo (Class 10) won the silver medal in the high jump event, bringing
honor to St. Clare.
Following this achievement, from 14th to 16th October 2025, a team of
St. Clare students participated in the State-Level Sepak Takraw
Tournament held at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima. The team comprised
Akinato Chophy (Class 7), Tonoka Yeptho (Class 5), Toto (Class 7),
Tiasunjem Longchar (Class 8), and Isukha Chophy (Class 7). Though the
team did not progress beyond the league matches, they exhibited
remarkable skill, discipline, and teamwork throughout the tournament.
The school management congratulated all the participants for their
dedication, sportsmanship, and commendable performances, encouraging
them to continue striving for excellence in future competitions.
