CELEBRATION OF TEACHERS’ DAY - 2025 IN ST. CLARE SCHOOL AKULUTO
NAGALAND
On the special occasion of Teachers’ Day, the students of St. Clare
School Akuluto Nagaland came together to honour and celebrate their
beloved teachers with love, joy, and gratitude. The programme began
with our charming hosts, Nili and Anguvito of Class 10, who warmly
welcomed everyone. The day started on a divine note with a soulful
prayer by Lea (Class 10), invoking blessings for our teachers. The
audience was then treated to a vibrant patriotic dance by the
primary students, filling every heart with pride as citizens of our
great nation. This was followed by a melodious treat — an original
composition, written, composed, and beautifully sung by Lea and Lina
of Class 10, dedicated to teachers. The primary students staged a
heartfelt skit titled “The Teacher Who Changed Me”, which deeply
touched everyone. Soon after, Viboka of Class 9 delivered a moving
address, thanking all teachers for their sacrifices and selfless
service. Adding a creative twist, 26 students came forward one by
one to explain the meaning of every letter of the alphabet from A to
Z — each line reflecting values learned from teachers.
The highlight of the cultural segment was a fusion of traditional
dances from different regions and tribes — Ao dance (Class 10),
Assamese dance (Class 8), Rongmei dance (Classes 8 & 10), South
Indian Kannada dance (Class 7), and Sumi dance (Classes 9 & 10).
This colourful presentation was a tribute to teachers from every
culture. From the teachers’ side, Sir John shared an inspiring
message about the importance of hard work and dedication, motivating
the students to pursue excellence. The high school boys then lit up
the stage with an entertaining rap performance, inviting teachers to
join them — creating a joyful moment of laughter and bonding. Fun
continued with task games for teachers, where they picked chits and
performed amusing challenges, much to the delight of the audience. A
touching thank-you video by 21 students was screened, expressing
heartfelt gratitude through voiceovers.
Later, as per tradition, teachers were presented with gifts by Rev.
Fr. John Peter, who also addressed the gathering, beautifully
defining the meaning of Teachers’ Day and acknowledging the noble
service of educators. The primary students once again uplifted the
mood with a refreshing dance, followed by a unique surprise —
“Certificates of Appreciation” were prepared by the students for
their teachers, highlighting their unique roles and personalities in
a humorous and creative way. To honour the moment, Fr. Melvin was
invited on stage to present the certificates to the teachers on
behalf of the students. Finally, Fr. James delivered the vote of
thanks, appreciating all participants, students, teachers, and
especially Rev. Fr. John Peter for his gracious presence and
motivating words. The programme concluded with a benediction prayer
by Brother Melrish. The day ended with a group photograph of
teachers and students, after which all the teachers proceeded to the
refectory for a fellowship meal.
