Ganesh Chaturthi and Girls Day celebraion @ St. Francis of Assisi School, Chikodi

Look at a child in the image of likeness of God and then you will be able to create a little heaven in your school campus. Keeping in mind the emphasis given in the Diocese of Belgaum by Rev. Dr. Peter Machado, Bishop of Belgaum, to celebrate any one day of September month as a day of girl child, we the Principal and the male staff members of Assisi School, Chikodi chose September 10th, a day to dedicate for the girl child of our school. On that day the girl child was allowed to wear the clothing of their liking and a beautiful one hour slide show presentation was shown to the students highlighting the important women who have made the country proud by their unique performances in their own field. The presentation was mind blowing and every girl child was made to feel proud for being what she is. Along with this celebration we also had festivity of Ganesh chathurti. Ambi Sir along with the students put up a short skit about the importance of Lord Ganesh and pleaded to remove all the obstacles from our life. Students of 10th Std had put up a beautiful dance to show the speciality of the celebration in this area. Bursting of crackers and exchange of sweets (modaka) was the highlight of the day. Principal Fr. Richie thanked Fr. Arun Lobo for his power point presentation and Ambi Sir for organizing Ganesh festivity.
