Seminar on “Faith in Indian Tradition” at Darshan Institute of Theology : 14th September, 2013.

The dawn of 14th September brought us a rare opportunity to re-discover the profound meaning of Faith in Indian tradition, in and through the half day seminar. Swami Vikrant S.D.B and Fr. Vincent Furtado OFM, Cap were the irreplaceable resource persons. Fr. Vincent in his keynote address spoke on the various dimensions of faith in the Vedic period, applying its principles to today’s context. It was an erudite presentation indeed!

Swami Vikrant though 84 years old, yet incredibly young ,spoke convincingly on “ Faith(Shraddha) in Indian tradition” according to the Vedas, Upanishads and the Bhagavad Gita, elucidating both the theoretical and practical aspects of faith connecting them well to the principles of Christian faith. Our conference hall was full with the jam-packed audience of around 130 participants. Fr. Rector welcomed everyone gracefully and thanked all those who contributed to make the seminar a great success. The efforts of Fr.Salvador Fernandes, the Dean of Studies were highly appreciated. The sumptuous meal in the afternoon was the climax of this event.
