Annual Retreat at Shanthi Sadhana –
FISI, Bangalore
The Annual Retreat on province level was arranged for the Provincial
Council, Provincial Delegates, Provincial Administration, Guardians,
Parish Priests and few missionary brothers in Shanthi Sadhana,
Franciscan Institute of Spirituality of India, Kengeri, Bangalore
from 25th to 29th September 2022. It was animated by Rev. Fr. Benny
Koottanal, MSFS, former Provincial Minister of South West Province,
in a very meaningful way. He based the whole retreat on the words of
St Paul to the Galatians 4:19, “My dear children, of whom I travail
again until that Christ is formed in you.” Every day two talks were
delivered on various topics mainly on Evangelical Counsels,
Challenges of religious life and Mother Mary’s role in our life. The
Adoration in the evening was animated by the preacher in line with
the theme of the day which included vocal prayers, praises and
singing, meditation, silence and benediction. Friars celebrated
Eucharist and the preacher gave homily and imparted spiritual
insights to renew and transform spiritual life carrying forward the
apostolic ministry assigned to each friar. At the conclusion of the
Annual retreat Provincial Minister, Br John Alwyn Dias felicitated
the preacher and Br Joel Lopes rendered vote of thanks. Friars
voiced that the Retreat was spiritually blending with lot of
spiritual inputs and prayerful ambience, meditative prayers and
