Inter school competitions cum literary events in St Clare School Akuluto organized by Akuluto Range Students’ Union
Akuluto Range Students’ Union organized Inter school competitions cum Literary Event in St Clare high School Premise from 10th to 13th September 2024 (Tuesday to Thursday). In view of the competitions social work was organized on Monday, 11th September to get ready the ground for the sports. Students of St Clare school and ARSU members helped out in getting ready the ground. Different schools from in an around Akuluto participated in the inter school competitions namely Hilto children home School, JNV, Government higher secondary school and the host school St Clare. On the first day, the chief guest was Mr Kihika Sumi Chishi, NPS O/C Cyber Crime Police Station who in his address asked the students to be competitive on the ground, not just to win the game but to learn how to face the opponents, face the hurdles, face the troubles and remain strong to achieve the goal. He also gave some guidance on Cyber Crime and asked everyone to be careful about the internet world. The speaker for the second day was Mr Gihuka K Zhimo, President of SKK. In his speech he said, “instead of going far away for the studies, make use of the available schools and colleges which are in the hometown as they also give same education that’s given in the far away places. Learning doesn’t depend on the schools, it depends on individual efforts and interest.” Several events were held during the inter school competitions namely Cultural events like Yodeling, cock fight, Literary events like speech competitions, Spell Bee, article writing, story writing, Debate, sports events like Volleyball, High jump, Javelin Throw, Long jump, 100 M Race, 200 M Race, Marathon Race and so on. The interschool competitions came to an end on the third day with a concluding ceremony led by ARSU officials. The winners of all events were awarded with a certificate and St Clare School was declared as overall champions of 6th interschool competitions. Fr Stephen Dsouza Principal of St Clare school, in his final message thanked the students’ union for systematically conducting the event. The President Mr Bokai T Achumi, President of ARSU thanked St Clare institution for hosting the interschool competitions. The event came to an end with the Prayer of benediction said by Fr Stephen Dsouza.
